Andrew Mukuba - 4-star S - Austin, Tx.

Committed since: 10/1/20.

Listed size: 6-0 185.

Early enrollee

Brings to Clemson: Mukuba is one of the more athletic prospects in the 2021 class as a standout defensive back and receiver playing at a high level of Texas high school football with LBJ Austin. He shows the ability to recognize a play early and come up and deliver a big hit -- and also track down a ball in the air to bring down an interception or knock down a pass.

Depth chart fit: He is the lone prospect classified as a safety by recruiting sites in the class currently, and in a defense that can often employ 5 and 6-DB schemes, Mukuba can plug into the playbook early as a spring enrollee and find his way into some early action.

Mickey Conn on Mukuba: "Andrew Mukuba is an incredible athlete that we are taking right out of the heart of Texas. Andrew is a dynamic player in all phases of the game...The thing that caught my eye when I first started recruiting Andrew is how physical this kid is. This kid hits like a linebacker but he's fast like a corner and changes direction like a corner and can play man coverage like a corner. His ball skills are like a receiver and he's smart like a safety. Loves the game. Has tremendous character and a positive attitude and fits the Clemson culture. We're getting a winner in Andrew Mukuba."
