Shortly after signing with Clemson, 5 star wide receiver Sammy Watkins had this to say about his signing day experience.
"This is like a dream to be signing with a school that feels like home," Watkins told the Fort Myers News-Press. Watkins finished his career with 123 catches for 2,987 yards and 35 receiving touchdowns, all Lee County records. Watkins committed to the Tigers in November and never waivered, but other coaches never gave up. "I changed my number, and even my coaches wouldn't give it out," Watkins told the News-Press. Even new Florida offensive coordinator Charlie Weis during an in-school visit couldn't convince Watkins to join his older brother Jaylen at Florida.
