Clemson's defensive theme in new 2026 offers continued with a familiar name.
Four-star Matthews, North Carolina linebacker Thomas Davis Jr. announced the news of a Clemson offer on Saturday morning. "Very blessed to have received an offer from Clemson!" Davis said. Davis is the son of All-Pro and 3-time Pro Bowl pick Thomas Davis, who played 199 games primarily with the Carolina Panthers. Most recently, two-time Clemson All-American and NFL legacy linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr. was drafted by his dad's former team, Philadelphia. He is a unanimous 4-star prospect and rated as high as the No. 1 inside linebacker in the 2026 class. Davis plays at Weddington, where former Clemson running back Will Shipley was a 5-star standout.
