K.J. McDaniels joins NBA summer team

The Portland Trailblazers have added K.J. McDaniels to their Las Vegas Summer League roster.

McDaniels was drafted in the second round by the Philadelphia 76ers in 2014, but was traded after a promising start (9.2 PPG/25.4 MPG) to Houston, where he averaged less than 10 minutes and three points per game over 2.5 seasons.

He last played in the NBA with the Brooklyn Nets during the 2016-2017 season and averaged 6.3 points and 2.6 rebounds per game in 14.7 minutes of action. Overall in the NBA, he has averaged 5.3 points and 2.2 rebounds per game.

McDaniels scored 17.1 points a game in his final Clemson campaign, earning ACC defensive player of the year with 2.8 blocks and 1.1 steals per.
