Riggs has accepted a preferred walk on offer from Clemson. He is the son of former Clemson tight end Jim Riggs who played in the NFL for seven seasons. Clemson's coaching staff thinks they will be able to add weight to Zach and use him at offensive tackle in addition to his natural tight end position. As a senior tight end, he had 600 yards and 4 touchdowns. As a junior, he had 12 catches for 286 yards and 2 touchdowns.
