Former Clemson 2014 linebacker target Raekwon McMillan took his football talents to Ohio State instead of Clemson and his other finalists and became a valuable member of last year's national championship team at Ohio State.

However, that didn't halt McMillan from maintaining his strong relationships he established while taking unofficial recruiting visits to Clemson and while attending the 2014 Dabo Swinney Football camp.

"We were good friends during recruitment and stuff like that," McMillan said about Watson via Cleveland.com. "We were just talking. We were happy for each other's progression and our teams getting better. Hopefully one day we can meet up in the playoffs. Just like us when your team has momentum you don't feel like you can lose to anybody. You don't fear anybody, but you always prepare hard for everybody."

The former 5-star linebacker recruit said that Watson and Swinney always wanted what was best for his life even if that meant not playing for the Tigers.

"I think during my recruitment that was one of the guys I wanted to play with," McMillan said about Watson. "We ended up taking different paths. While he ended up at Clemson, he committed early, and he was pressing me hard to come to Clemson. I took that different path, but he was always a cool guy, always down to Earth. Even though he wanted me to come to Clemson, he was always there for my best interests. The head coach too, Coach Swinney, they always wanted my best interest. Even when I decided to come to Ohio State, they still called me afterwards and told me congratulations and when we won the national championship those were some of the first guys I talked to after the game."

McMillian and Watson text each other and hope that each other face off against each other in the national championship game.

McMillan finished last season with 54 tackles while playing just 44.3 percent of the snaps.
