Jo Jo Cox committed to Clemson very early in the recruiting process. After his commitment, it appeared his recruitment would parallel that of Antonio Clay. After a weekend firestorm of rumors connecting Cox to Auburn, Cox had a quiet and smooth recruiting process.
The signing of Cox was overshadowed by landing CJ Spiller on Signing Day. Cox reminds most of Reggie Merriweather. Cox is a tough in between the tackles runner. He has good speed, but his strength lies in getting the tough yardage. With James Davis and Reggie Merriweather already on-hand, it will be difficult for Cox to break the two-deep in 2006. Cox has some work left in the classroom, but he has a good chance to qualify. Should Cox fully qualify, he could be a valuable contributor on the scout team. Freshmen Forecast: Redshirt
