Projected Vegas odds on Clemson-Alabama

Clemson (No. 1) will face Alabama (No. 4) in the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, LA on New Year's Day at 8:45 p.m. ET.

Early projected lines via 5Dimes have Alabama as a 2.5 favorite over No. 1 Clemson. In the other college football playoff semi-final contest, Georgia is an early one-point favorite against Oklahoma in the Rose Bowl.

Alabama despite being the No. 4 seed will play closer to home than Clemson at the Sugar Bowl.

The Clemson football team relishes being the underdog and it appears that the defending champions won't be favored against Crimson Tide in the trilogy battle. It will be the eighth time the Tigers are an underdog in a bowl game under Dabo Swinney according to ESPN.

Alabama (35%) is the favorite to win the CFP National Championship, followed by Georgia (24%), Clemson (23%) and Oklahoma (18%), according to ESPN's FPI.
