Former Clemson defensive back Bashaud Breeland has signed a one-year deal with the Green Bay Packers on Tuesday. The NFC North team needed some help after veteran cornerback Davon House was placed on the injured reserve with a shoulder injury.

Breeland posted his excitement about the new opportunity on his Instagram account.

"I wanna thank the Packers organization for taking a chance on me when 31 other teams wouldn't," he posted. I will make it my purpose to show the world that this was the right decision on behalf of me and this organization."

In 2017, Breeland had 50 tackles and a 96-yard interception for a touchdown. He also allowed just a 49.3 completion percentage and a passer rating of 75.6 against his coverage last season.

He had 271 tackles, seven forced fumbles, and eight interceptions during his four years (58 starts) with the Washington Redskins.

The Redskins drafted him in the fourth round out of Clemson in 2014.
