Wilkins, Trevor Lawrence among top-4 grading Tigers |
Pro Football Focus released its grades for the top-5 players graded so far in Clemson-Syracuse game come noon on Saturday (ABC).
Christian Wilkins has graded the highest this season for either team (91.6), posting 17 tackles (4.5 for loss) with two sacks and three quarterback pressures in 137 snaps. Syracuse safety Andre Cisco is next on their list (87.2), who has four interceptions, three pass breakups and seven tackles this season. A Clemson trio rounds out that top-5 in Travis Etienne (86.1), Dexter Lawrence (84.6) and Trevor Lawrence (83.8). Trevor Lawrence was named Clemson's starting quarterback this week after moving into the top-10 nationally in passing efficiency (8th) and yards per attempt (10th) with a four-touchdown performance last week at Georgia Tech. Etienne was a standout as well last week, going 75 yards after contact and forcing seven missed tackles per PFF's numbers. Dexter Lawrence has tallied 10 stops, with one for loss, and a team-leading five quarterback pressures in 126 snaps this season. Also of note in the advanced analysis stats, reserve linebacker J.D. Davis, who started last week in place an injured Kendall Joseph, has missed just one tackle and posted 22 stops this season (per CFB Film Room).
