2018: ACC Academic Honor Roll member … had an 0-0 record and a 9.82 ERA in 10 relief appearances … in 3.2 innings pitched, he allowed five hits (.294 opponents’ batting average) and two walks with three strikeouts … only allowed one of his eight inherited baserunners to score.
2017: Redshirted … No. 117 freshman in the ACC in the preseason by Perfect Game … played for Lexington County in the Coastal Plain League in the summer, where he was 0-0 and allowed nine hits and four walks with six strikeouts in 6.1 innings pitched over six relief appearances.
Before Clemson: Played in the Palmetto Games in 2014 and 2015 … played in the Select Games in 2016 … all-state as a junior and senior … No. 1 lefthander in South Carolina by Diamond Prospects … all-region as a sophomore, junior and senior … lettered five times in baseball and three times in swimming at Newberry High School, where he was coached by Lindsay Stribble.
Personal: His father, Mike, played three seasons (1986,87,89) at Clemson and had a 4-3 record, four saves and a 5.37 ERA in 65.1 innings pitched over 41 relief appearances … his brother, Jack, was a member of the 2015 Clemson baseball team … majoring in parks, recreation & tourism management … born Ryne Neville Huggins on Jan. 17, 1998 in Columbia, S.C.
