He held offers from schools such as Miami, Florida, Florida State, Alabama, Arkansas, Nebraska, USC and the list goes on. The safety from Tallahassee (Fla.) North Florida Christian was invited to participate in the Gridiron Kings 7-on-7 this past weekend in Orlando, Florida.
At the Gridiron Kings event, Blanks learned a lot from former NFL Safety, Donovin Darius. “I learned a lot of technique about the game and stuff.”
The safety from Tallahassee explained why he committed to the Tigers. “I am committed to Clemson. It is a place where I felt comfortable. Just the relationship I had there.”
Blanks, 6-foot-1 and 195, has offers by most of the schools in the ACC and SEC including Florida, Florida State and Miami. Before he made his decision to commit to Clemson, he was considering Florida State and Miami.
“I was considering them at one point,” he said. “I just didn’t feel they were the right place for me.”
“No,” he said when asked if he was considering anyone now.
