78 pitches. Guess Bakich/Belanger being really careful with the arm this time of year, including sitting him last Sunday at Louisville. Would've loved to see him get at least 5 innings to qualify for a win (not to mention it would mean one less inning to be sweating the bullpen).

That's one of the drawbacks of being a strikeout pitcher. You're pitch count is going to get up there.
