Brad Brownell updates injury status on team

by - Assoc. Editor -

Clemson head coach Brad Brownell held an interview session with the media Monday as he discussed several topics including the injury status of his young squad.

"We are optimistic that Jonathan Baehre maybe in December at some point, hopefully, early December would be able to come back and help us," he said.

Veteran guard Clyde Trapp is still rehabbing from his torn ACL that he suffered in practice on May 20.

"Clyde seems to be progressing well," he said. "Early January would be my guess if things continue to progress like they have. I think both guys are doing good things and progressing nicely, so we are keeping our fingers crossed."

Trapp averaged 6 points (second-leading returning scorer), 3.4 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game last season.

"There is still a lot that has to be done between now and then for both guys really in terms of dealing with contact, and are there any ramifications to the injuries? I think right now, we feel good about both guys, so training and medical staff has done well."

Sophomore transfer Nick Honor has not been cleared by the NCAA as the Tigers begin their regular season tomorrow.

"Yeah, not yet," he said. "We are still waiting — no real news to report. Just got to be patient. Hopefully, this week, we are going to find something out for sure."
