"Bury Clemson at your own peril."
CBS Sports radio host Damon Amendolara addressed some of the concerns about college football pundits over Clemson, which has dropped from No. 1 to No. 4 in the Associated Press Top 25 this season. Amendolara said the above quote in relation to those concerns and still believes Clemson is well-positioned when it comes Playoff-time. "The only thing that doesn't look like Clemson last year is the quarterback. They still run the football ridiculously well," Amendolara said. "They can run the football. They can play defense. They can get after the quarterback. They don't have a defensive line that's all first-round draft picks like last year's defensive line, but they've got studs in the secondary. Justyn Ross is nasty at wide receiver. They still have one of the best coaches, if not the best coach, in college football. They've won two championships in the last three years..." "Tomorrow, in a playoff game -- would you take (Ohio State coach) Ryan Day or Dabo Swinney?" Amendolara asked. "Tomorrow in a playoff game, would you take Oklahoma or Clemson? Tomorrow in a playoff game, would you take Georgia, who just lost to South Carolina, or Clemson? I think it's far too early to bury the Tigers as not worth somehow of the College Football Playoff."
