Clemson by the numbers: Lawrence moves into top-10 in passing stats

by - Staff Writer -

Throwing four touchdown passes will put you on the national radar - and that’s right where Trevor Lawrence is through four games in splitting time with senior Kelly Bryant.

Lawrence ranks in the top-25 now in pass efficiency (8th; 191.8), yards per attempt (10th; 10), yards per completion (14th; 15.4) and touchdown passes (23rd; 9).

He is a leader on a top-20 offense (20th; 513 YPG) with a running back Travis Etienne who is in the top-15 in yards per carry (12th; 8.5) and rushing touchdowns (12th; 5) and a receiver in Tee Higgins who is top-15 in yards per reception (15th; 22.1).

A largely dominant performance on defense only improved the number of top defensive stats - in the top-10 in sacks per game (2nd; 4), total defense (4th; 251.8 YPG), TFLs (4th; 9.75 per game), passing defense (7th; 148.3 YPG) and first downs allowed (10th; 15 per game).

On special teams, Clemson is in the top-15 in both kickoff return defense (3; 14 YPR) and kickoff returns (11th; 29.25 YPR).
