Auburn WR believes his team is WRU, "Forget Clemson and Alabama" |
Clemson has put so many receivers into the NFL the last decade that the Tigers clearly deserve the 'WRU' moniker.
Playmakers such as DeAndre Hopkins, Mike Williams, Sammy Watkins, Adam Humphries, Jaron Brown, Charone Peake, and Martavis Bryant are a few Tigers pros that quickly come to mind. The stockpile of receiver talent at Clemson is currently elite with Tee Higgins, Diondre Overton, T.J. Chase, Amari Rodgers, Cornell Powell, Derion Kendrick, Justyn Ross, Brannon Spector, Frank Ladson, and Joe Ngata. However, at least one player thinks that his team stacks up with Clemson's positional talent at receiver. Auburn redshirt freshman receiver Matt Hill spoke to the media Saturday after Auburn's A-Day spring game and believes that his receiver group is loaded. "We're going to be the best receiving corps in the nation. Forget Clemson, forget Alabama, we're going to make some plays." Hill has zero career catches with two rushes for 21 yards. Auburn has only had two receivers reach 1,000 yards in a season in program history with Terry Beasley in 1972 and Ronney Daniels in 1999 according to the Montgomery Advertiser. "We're going to be the best receiving corps in the nation. Forget Clemson, forget Alabama, we're going to make some plays."
