WATCH: Swinney's speech at Kevin Turner's funeral

by -

Clemson head football coach Dabo Swinney spoke at the funeral of his friend and former teammate Kevin Turner that passed away with his battle with ALS.

Swinney shared some personal texts between the two that centered around Turner's son Nolan that has committed to play football at Clemson.

"Most likely I won't see Nolan graduate and there's nothing that you could have told me that would make me happier than telling me a man of your character and integrity would be there for my son after I'm gone ... I'm not scared of dying, but not being there for my kids terrifies me," Turner said.

"God's plan is perfect," Swinney said. "One day your body will be healed, you will run and jump and you will have no struggles ... We will all die, but our purpose is to glorify God. K.T., you're an amazing person, father and example to me. Keep fighting to change lives. Your legacy will live forever. Don't ever give up," Swinney read. "I got your back."
