Cervenka on Lawrence: "We've got his back"

by - Assoc. Editor -

The Clemson offensive line including Gage Cervenka was one of the main reasons for the high-level rushing attack against Syracuse on Saturday.

Running back Travis Etienne finished the game with 203 yards and three touchdowns.

During Monday's interview session, Cervenka shared that starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence treated the offensive line to breakfast before Saturday's game.

"He earned the spot," he said. "It's not like we just gave it to him. He earned up and been working for it. He's a great kid. What shows character with Trevor, he actually took out the offensive line to breakfast Friday morning. He's a great player. We tell him hey you're the guy. You got the keys and just drive the car and let's go. We've got his back with everything."

Hopefully, the restaurant that served the large breakfast has restocked their food storage by now.
