The nation’s consensus top-rated QB announced a commitment to Clemson on Sunday.
DJ Uiagalelei is a nation-leading fourth five-star commitment - all in a month’s time - for the Clemson 2020 class, which only strengthens the Tigers’ grip on the top spot in the team recruiting rankings with 14 pledges now. That five-star momentum could continue with the May 17 announcement of defensive end Myles Murphy (Powder Springs, Ga.), who is rated as high as No. 1 at his position (ESPN). Uiagalelei was named a first-team All-American by Maxpreps and California Gatorade player of the year as a junior. He tossed 48 touchdown passes (to seven interceptions) with 3,366 passing yards and a 69.6 completion rate last year. He also rushed for 312 yards and six scores.
