is headed to play in the CFL for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

TigerNet.com spoke with Boyd on Tuesday morning and he is currently flying to Winnipeg.

Boyd's player rights have been traded from Hamilton to Winnipeg for a conditional draft pick in the 2017 CFL Draft.

He was released by the Pittsburgh Steelers back in mid-August after not making an appearance in either of the two Steelers' preseason games while on the active roster.

Boyd passed for 11,904 yards with a 64.3% completion rate, 107 touchdowns and 39 interceptions during his outstanding career at Clemson. He also rushed for 1,100 yards and another 26 scores on the ground. The former fan-favorite was also the ACC player of the year in 2012.

Winnipeg has the following QB's on their roster besides Boyd: Drew Willy, Robert Marve, Matt Nichols and Brian Brohm.
