WATCH: ESPN analysts break down their Top 5 CFB Playoff rankings

ESPN analysts Joey Galloway and Jesse Palmer discussed their latest top five for the College Football Playoff rankings on Saturday night.

Palmer had Clemson at No. 3 in his rankings.

"They're starting to move up now, obviously, with Penn State's loss and you will see that with the committee as well," he said about Clemson. "The last five games, since that scare against UNC, they've been outscoring people by 208 points. When Trevor Lawrence plays this way he's played the last three games, the defense has been fantastic, they're talented enough, I think, to beat anybody in the country."

Galloway dropped Clemson one spot to No. 2 in his rankings.

"I like Clemson at number two, and this is a switch for me," he said. "I've kept the defending national champion at number one, while undefeated. But LSU has just done something that hadn't been done since the 70s. They have four top 10 wins in their first nine games. But I tell you what, don't jump off this Clemson team. You talked about them outscoring people, well that was their only question, was their offense. They've gone five straight games now, scoring 45 points, defense outstanding."
