Date changed for Clemson future schedule

by -

Clemson's 2021 football schedule saw a shuffle recently that moved a Group of 5 conference game to November.

The current contractual setup will be different than the usual out-of-conference makeup under Dabo Swinney with the season-opener to be determined and two Group of 5 conference opponents scattered through the schedule.

A home game with UConn was slated for Sept. 11, 2021, originally, but that game was moved recently to Nov. 13, 2021, which is two weeks ahead of closing the regular-season at South Carolina. Wyoming is slated for Sept. 25 at home and the date with FCS-opponent S.C. State has yet to be locked in.

In 2021, Clemson will take trips to Louisville, NC State, UNC and Syracuse and host Boston College, Florida State, Georgia Tech and Wake Forest.

Clemson is penciled-in to face two Power 5 teams or South Carolina plus Notre Dame for every season other than 2021 through 2031: 2019 - Texas A&M, at South Carolina; 2020 - at Notre Dame, South Carolina; 2022 - at Notre Dame, South Carolina; 2023 - Notre Dame, at South Carolina; 2024 - Georgia (neutral site in Atlanta), South Carolina; 2025 - LSU, at South Carolina; 2026 - at LSU, South Carolina; 2027 - at South Carolina, Notre Dame; 2028 - South Carolina, at Notre Dame; 2029 - Georgia, at South Carolina; 2030 - South Carolina, at Georgia; 2031 - Notre Dame, at South Carolina.
