College football starts this month and CBS Sports
has made its Playoff predictions.
All four panelists see Clemson finishing as the CFP No. 1 seed but only one has the Tigers repeating as champion. 247Sports director Barton Simmons has Dabo Swinney’s Tigers advancing to the championship but Alabama exacting revenge. Ohio State and Notre Dame are also in his final top-four. Neither CBS’ Chip Patterson nor Barrett Sallee have Clemson making it out of the semifinals, with an SEC foe in Alabama (Patterson) and Georgia (Sallee) advancing on. Patterson has Oklahoma as his national champion and Sallee is picking Georgia. CBS analyst Tom Fornelli calls for the Clemson repeat, meeting Michigan in the semifinals and then downing Oklahoma in the final.
