Defensive Spring Notes

The media gets limited practice access to Clemson football these days, but we still have been able to find some tidbits. Last week we gave some notes on the offense. Below are some things I have heard this spring on the defense:

* Shaq LawsonShaq Lawson

has emerged as a leader. I think he understands this year that he is in the spotlight. He can make himself a lot of money in the NFL Draft if he has a big junior season.

*I think the staff trusts Kevin DoddKevin Dodd

. The potential is there. He has some of the measurables. The issue is a lack of experience, but at this point there is a clear separation between Dodd and the others. He is set to have a big role in the defense.

*Depth is an issue at defensive end because of a lack of experience, but there is some ability there. Albert HugginsAlbert Huggins
