In the pre-season speeches I gave to Clemson clubs this year one of the main themes I hit on was that there were answers to the many questions that faced the Tigers this year – I just didn't know who would be the answers.

competed throughout fall camp for a role and they are still competing moving forward.
The running back position does not come with a controversy tag but there is competition. Brooks got hurt and is out for the season, and Dye is not quite back to 100% as of yet. Fuller is not ready and will red-shirt but the other four backs have had a shot.
The staff took two different approaches with the running back rotation in the first two games. At Georgia they went with experience when Howard and Davidson got the majority of the snaps and carries. Last week the staff gave the freshmen a chance and both impressed.
The running back position does not come with a controversy tag but it is still a competition. The sample size is too small to see what will happen moving forward but at this point I would look for Choice to make a big push. He has a low center of gravity and is powerful in his lower body. Choice appeared to have good vision and I liked his one-cut style. He also seemed to break tackles and fall forward.
Gallman runs hard and has a chance, as does Davidson. Both seem like they can have a role moving forward.

checks down to an underneath receiver more often. Stoudt is only 11-31 when throwing the ball beyond the line of scrimmage. Watson is 7-10 when throwing the ball beyond the line of scrimmage. Stoudt is only 3-16 when throwing the ball beyond 15 yards. Watson is 5-6 when throwing the ball beyond 15 yards.
Watson has been more productive as well. Stoudt has thrown for one touchdown and one interception. Watson has thrown for four touchdowns and no picks. Stoudt has led 19 drives with five resulting in TDs and three in FGs for a total of 44 points. Watson has led seven drives with five resulting in TDs for a total of 35 points.

. Both have eight catches but Humphries has 45 yards receiving and no touchdowns for a 5.6 yard average while Scott has 205 yards with two touchdowns and a 25.6 yard average.
These positions are easier to analyze due to several statistics, but there is competition at other positions as well.

compete every day at a safety spot. On the offensive line there is competition and there needs to be after a lack luster performance Saturday. The tight ends are locked in competition and more blocking is needed there as well.
An open date can be productive in several areas but personnel decisions appear to be a key to this open date.
