James Thompson Offensive lineman Sumter High School (Sumter, SC) 6'5", 303 lbs, 4.91 seconds James Thompson is considered to be one of the top 10 prospects in the state this year and in the top five by some analysts. He has 26 pancake blocks and has graded out at 86 percent for the 12-0 Sumter Gamecocks. He is being recruited by Clemson, South Carolina, North Carolina, N.C. State, Georgia, Maryland, East Carolina, Georgia Tech, and Tennessee. He has been offered by Clemson, South Carolina, South Carolina State, Benedict, North Carolina, North Caroina State, Maryland, and Charleston Southern.

Although he won't start focusing on his college choice until Sumter's season comes to an end, Thompson thinks highly of Clemson. "I like the coaching staff and the graduation rate, and I think they will be a very good team next season," Thompson said. "I could definitely see myself at Clemson." Thompson will visit South Carolina this weekend for the Gamecocks game against Clemson. Clemson assistant Dabo Swinney is recruiting Thompson for the Tigers.
