and Zerrick Cooperall put up big numbers.

The numbers show that the future is bright for Clemson’s offense.

It started Friday night when Powell, the 4-star receiver out of Greenville (NC) Rose, had six catches for 111 yards and three touchdowns in a 56-44 win. Powell had scoring receptions of 23 and 52 yards and returned a kickoff 87 yards for a touchdown.

“It was actually kind of bittersweet for me,” Powell told TigerNet after the game. “This is the last first game of my high school career, and that has kind of hit home for me. But it’s also good to get out there and get off to a good start in my senior season. I think I am going to have a good year.”

Cooper continued his early season hot streak as he tossed two fourth-quarter touchdown passes to lead Jonesboro (GA) to an impressive 17-15 win over No. 5 Sandy Creek. Both of Cooper’s touchdown passes went to favorite target Jordan GriffinJordan Griffin

. The pair connected for a score early in the fourth quarter, and then Cooper found Griffin from 23 yards out with 53 seconds remaining to clinch the win.

During the season’s first week – and in his first game back from a torn ACL – Cooper passed for 160 yards and four touchdowns in Jonesboro’s 31-6 win over Mount Zion.

Cooper was given the 11Alive Sports Athlete of the Week Award last Wednesday for his accomplishments against Mount Zion.

“It's been a lot competition and a lot of hard work. We've got two W's,” Cooper told TigerNet. “We won last [Friday] night against Sandy Creek 17-15. They were the number four team in the state of Georgia.”

Cooper said the injury to his knee helped him refine his game and might turn out to be a blessing in the long run.

“It means a lot to me being that I just came off of the ACL injury, and being that it was the first time that I've played in a full game,” Cooper said. “Being honored with the player of the week made me realize how much talent I have and how far I've come after being injured to now. That year I took off allowed me to develop as a young quarterback and as a player overall. It has helped me.”

Feaster saved the best for last and he did it during an ESPNU Showcase Saturday. The 5-star running back commit out of Spartanburg had nine catches for 131 yards and a touchdown and had 51 rushing yards with two touchdowns in the Vikings’ 42-14 win.

Spartanburg made the 400-mile trek to Wakulla, Fla., in an early-season matchup. Wakulla featured LSU commit and top quarterback prospect Feleipe FranksFeleipe Franks

and former FSU commit and receiver Keith Gavin.

It was Feaster who scored the first two touchdown’s for the Vikings, who trailed 14-13 at the half. The Vikings ran away with the game in the second half, and Feaster’s 42-yard touchdown reception late in the third quarter gave Spartanburg a two touchdown lead.
