C-L-E-M in cadence count is the primary Clemson spirit cheer. It was originally a military marching Jody call, so-called because many such chants featured tales of Jody. As such, it timed out rhythmically to end on the right foot. Adjustments to the cheer in recent years (adding a third "fight") throw it off so that it would end on the left foot. Traditionalists in the Clemson Nation only do the original which is presented here:
C-L-E-M !
C-L-E-M in cadence, COUNT !!
1 - 2 - 3 - 4
1 - 2 - 3 - 4
C - L - E - M - S - O - N
T - I - G - E - rrrrRRRRR - S !! FIGHT Tigers FIGHT ###### FIGHT FIGHT !!
Doing three fights will earn you odd looks at the Esso Club and outright ridicule in certain side yards

Cadence count cheer----done correctly...
700 views | 10 replies | Watch Topicam I supposed to yell "Woooooooooo!!!" twice?
Only time I've heard it done correctly in recent years was when the Citadel Summerall guard performed at halftime of one of our 2011 games (we weren't playing the Citadel that day)

Yelling C-L-E-M-S-O-N at the end of Tiger Rag was not original.
Things change.I saw I guy get ### kicked because he made everyone end on their left foot.
steps per minute pace, or for those of you mathematically challenged that is 1-2 would take one second, 3-4 would take another second, etc. It is not 1,2,3,4 as fast as you can speak.
three years in the 60's, when we did the cheer, we omitted the 1-2-3-4, leading the cheer as follows:
C-L-E-M in cadence count:
C-L-E-M-S-O-N
T-I-G-E-RRRRRRRRR-S.
Fight Tigers, Fight D@mnit...Fight, Fight, Fight!
(Yes, we used three "fights," and the cheer was not done overtly fast due to our physical routine.)That makes 2 followers for C L E M S O N...with the word Fight 3 times at the ending..BUT with a Dammitt placed between them last two Fights! Ha.
gO tigers!“And” Cadence Count!
