Update On DeAndre McDaniel

by -

One of Clemson's top rated signees DeAndre McDaniel will not qualify for August enrollment. McDaniel was a top ten player in Florida. His future is undecided at this point. McDaniel could possibly take the route Cory Lambert and Joch McKissic took by not enrolling at a prep school and just taking the test. The likely move would be to enroll McDaniel in a prep school, and he would join Clemson in January.

Clemson is only waiting on two more players from the class of 2006. JoJo Cox has his qualifying test score, but he has to pass an Exit Exam to be able to enroll at Clemson. His test results should be known soon. Julius Wilkerson is confident he will be at Clemson in August. The Tigers did not sign Wilkerson, but if he qualifies the Tigers will send over the LOI.

If you are wondering about the numbers, the Tigers would be right at 85 with Wilkerson. If Wilkerson or Cox does not make it, Coach Bowden will award the most deserving walk-ons with those scholarships. Starting tight end Thomas Hunter was not on scholarship at the beginning of fall camp last year.
