I woke up one morning with a hangover from Boone's Farm apple wine married to a pretty girl at the old age of 27.
As a Hippie owned nothing (a mattress on the floor in cheap apartment and a stereo), she had even less.
I got us a 19" TV "on time" from Woolco, no table to sit it on or chair to sit in to watch.
At 29 when Calhoun arrived got us a nice house in Matthews on the GI Bill.
At 33 I was deep in debt with medical bills no normal person could ever pay.
I drove a well used GMC van I got at auction for $300 from Southern Bell, a step down from the new Toyota I had when we married.
I used credit cards to make credit card payments, but we had bigger problems than that.
K got a job, I worked at many.
We held and did not go under.
Now days I have not had a car payment or house payment or any debt for 30 years.
We are doing OK. I would buy a vacation home, but already live in one.

I haven't had any debt for about 10 years now. It's a great feeling to owe absolutely nothing to anybody. Hard work and saving will get you there eventually.

Credit is a real thing and can be great for us folks if we understand it.
Folks with a job and $$ coming in will find it can be used to advantage. It can bail one on hard times.
When my boy needed help, we got the best $$ could by - on credit.
Last year my home and all I owned burned.
Money was there for me from my credit union, in fact, they were pushing it on me.
