MUST WATCH: Surprise Tiger Band proposal at the Superdome |
NEW ORLEANS, LA - The Clemson faithful are expecting big things when the top-ranked Tigers take on Alabama Monday night in the Allstate Sugar Bowl in the Superdome. For one Clemson couple, however, things were plenty exciting Sunday morning.
Tiger Band practiced at the Superdome Sunday morning, and as the practice session drew to a close, band photographer Christopher Sloan spoke for a few minutes about family. A 1997 graduate of Clemson and a former Tiger Band Commander (1996), Sloan had the attention of everyone present. It didn't take long, however, for him to get to the point. Sloan got down on one knee and proposed to Tamara Bowen, his girlfriend and another photographer with the band. The couple started dating after the Notre Dame game a few years ago, so their relationship is tied to Clemson football. As the tears fell Sloan got down on one knee and also proposed to Bowen's 9-year old daughter Peyton, slipping a ring on her finger and asking if she would be his daughter. Both women said yes.
