She was too liberal for me but seemed like a civil and decent human. RIP Diane Feinstein.
Hopefully Newsom doesn't appoint Adam Schiff in the interim giving him a leg up for the Nov 2024 election. A dirt sandwich is better than him.

Looks like you are a profit. But in fairness the prediction was pretty easy.

Feinstein is a prime example of a career politician whose love of power was the driving force of their life - not "service".
In the end I can find nothing admirable about Feinstein and many other politicians who are mentally or physically incapable of doing their jobs but refuse to step down. They are consumed with power to such a degree that nothing but death can remove them from it.
So...From a strictly Mother/Grandmother perspective - RIP. But from a careerist political perspective - good riddance to another of the old establishment politicians whose life long "service" has helped put our country in such debt that our eventual financial ruin is all but assured.

Given how things are out in Cali these days, her replacement will likely be a trans woke squad ally.

obsessed with power as Feinstein. The Party's control over who gets in these positions virtually assures it will be another career seeking political clone of the leftist variety.
There are no "Lucius Quinctius Cincinnatus" adherents in the two Party system that dominates our political system. Individuals that voluntarily relinquish power to return to an ordinary life is an unknown and unwelcome concept to the Party apparatus.

Politics used to be a finite service job. You didn't even really need term limits 200 years ago because nobody WANTED to serve that long (and nobody really lived that long anyway). Elected positions weren't a ticket to wealth acquisition from big monied interests. Now that it is, term limits will never, ever be put in place. The machine will eat itself, and the expense of the commoners.

Which is why We The People shouldn't be giving them a choice in the matter.
We're the ones to blame here. Nothing will get fixed until we get the politicians out and put actual citizens in...this is exactly the reason juries usually work and come to the right decision. Folks come in from all walks of life, but they have a common duty and a common job to do...and they pull together and get it done. We see it work constantly in the military too.
Literally every last one of us knows this...and instead of doing something about it, we let them hoodwink us into thinking nothing can be done and we turn around and vote for the politicians anyhow and then seem shocked when it doesn't work. Lately we're getting even stupider and instead of voting for politicians we're going even lower and voting in populists.
