Camp Confidential: Day Two, Session Two |
CLEMSON – The second session of
Dabo Swinney
Dabo Swinney However, campers managed to get in about an hour’s worth of workouts, and we managed to see several of the best prospects who were on campus. The first player I started out watching was quarterback
Tyler Queen Tyler Queen Queen made all of the throws – on the run, from the set, down the sideline, over the middle – and showed outstanding arm strength. You could tell Morris was intrigued by Queen’s blend of size, athleticism and arm strength. Queen was recently offered by Alabama, and it wasn’t a big surprise to see Queen get a Clemson offer before Thursday was over. *The next stop on the camp tour was the tight end spot, where I wanted to watch 2015 prospect
Garrett Williams Garrett Williams Pearman never called Ealey by name, instead calling him “Irmo” for most of the session. It was easy to see that Ealey was the most athletic of the bunch on hand. His uncle told me that Ealey’s good footwork is a by-product of playing basketball – he played for Irmo this past season – and is considered a big prospect in that sport as well. Ealey doesn’t have an offer, but Clemson, South Carolina, LSU and Georgia are all increasing their contact and his uncle believes an offer will come soon. *Another big offensive line prospect caught my eye in the afternoon session – 2015’s Will Jones out of Lugoff-Elgin. Jones’ father Scott is the head coach at Lugoff-Elgin, and he told me that he brought Will to Clemson’s camp to have offensive line coach
Robbie CaldwellRobbie Caldwell *I mentioned that
George Brown George Brown I watched Brown again this afternoon, and there is no doubt that he is an absolute stud. *Four coaches and five players from Ballou High School in Washington, D.C. arrived this morning and took part in the afternoon workouts. The group camped at Clemson at the invitation of Clemson defensive backs coach
Mike ReedMike Reed I asked their head coach the purpose of the trip, and he said it was not only show off his players to the bigger schools, but expose his players to life outside of the Delmarva area. The players he brought are 2015 OL Levon Livingston; 2015 TE William Richardson; 2016 WR Delonte Moore; 2015 WR Malik Pelham; and 2016 QB ChrisDeion Alston. *I talked to Brandon Simpson, who was Ben Boulware’s position coach at T.L. Hanna, and he told me has already warned defensive coordinator

this morning, and wondered whether he would slip over to Caldwell’s group in the afternoon (he is considered an offensive line prospect by most). He was back with the defensive ends, and that is where his father wants him to play. Clemson has offered, and the Browns will be back for the Georgia game.
