Despite signing a strong class of defensive ends in 2006, Clemson is looking to build more depth at defensive end. One prospect could be on the verge of committing to Clemson.
Rennie Moore of Georgia is a big athletic defensive line prospect that is being recruited by Vic Koenning. Moore says Clemson is the team to beat. "Clemson is my top school. It is just a matter of time before I commit. Everything seems to be a real good fit with Clemson. Some other schools are trying to get in the mix, but I don't think anything will be better than Clemson." Moore says Koenning is a big factor in his decision. "Coach Koenning has always shown me a lot of respect. He has recruited me very hard. He picked up on my talents early, and I appreciate that. I know he could put me in the best position to be successful in college." Who are the other schools in contention with Moore? "Florida State, Georgia Tech, and South Carolina are behind Clemson. Florida State has great tradition and a really nice campus. They send defensive lineman to the NFL every year. Georgia Tech and South Carolina need to build depth." We will continue to track Moore closely.
