WKU Baseball hires former Clemson coach

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- WKU has hired 14-year head coaching veteran John Pawlowski as Hilltopper head baseball coach, Director of Athletics Todd Stewart announced Thursday.

Pawlowski has a career record of 505-318 (.614) as head coach at College of Charleston and Auburn, and he has been to 11 NCAA Tournaments as a head coach and assistant coach in his 22-year coaching career. He has coached 75 players who have gone on to play in the professional ranks.

Pawlowski will be introduced as WKU head baseball coach at a press conference today at 3:30 (CT) in the Paul Just Media Room at E.A. Diddle Arena.

2014-15: San Diego State Assistant Coach (2 Years; 2 NCAA Tournaments)

2009-13: Auburn Head Coach (5 Years) -- 167-126 Record

- 1 NCAA Tournament

2000-08: College of Charleston Head Coach (9 Years) -- 338-192 Record

- 3 NCAA Tournaments (1 Super Regional)

- 3 Coach of the Year Honors

1999: Arizona State Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator (1 Year)

1994-98: Clemson Assistant Coach (5 Years; 5 NCAA Tournaments; 1995, 1996 CWS)
