With much of the early signing period in the books, Clemson sits in the top-5 in the 2019 recruiting rankings on average.
The Tigers’ class saw movement on Thursday with 4-star, top-100-rated offensive lineman Will Putnam signing.
Clemson moved up two spots to No. 5 in the 247Sports Composite Rankings after the announcement. The top-5 starts with Alabama (26 commits; 94.04 rating) then Georgia (21 commits; 93.71), Texas A&M (25 commits; 91.09), LSU (21 commits; 91.39) and Clemson (27 commits; 90.4). 247’s own rankings have Clemson at No. 6, behind Michigan.
Clemson is fifth in Rivals.com’s evaluation (3.59 avg. rating), behind Alabama (4), Georgia (3.73), Texas A&M (3.8) and LSU (3.67).
The Tigers are No.6 in the ESPN rankings, trailing Alabama, Georgia, Texas A&M, Michigan and Oregon.
Going into the final NSD in February 2019, over 80 percent of the ESPN300-rated prospects have signed already.
With Putnam's addition Thursday, Clemson has 13 247Sports Composite 4-star or higher-rated prospects in the 2019 class.
