#19 DUAL, #6 CT
The top-rated prospect in Connecticut has officially signed with Clemson and he enters a more spacious QB room than in recent years at this point.
More on Taisun Phommachanh... Taisun Phommachanh - 4-star QB - Bridgeport, Ct. Committed since: 04/14/18. Recruiter: Brandon Streeter. Listed size: 6-3 194. Early enrollee Brings to Clemson: Phommachanh has shown the ability to move around and outside the pocket and throw on the run effectively. And in the ground game, he has the elusiveness that pegs him among the better dual-threat prospects in the 2019 class. As a junior, Phommachanh completed 70.5 percent of his throws with 26 touchdowns to one interception. Depth chart fit: Off the radar a bit in the Northeast, his senior season wasn’t met with much fanfare from recruiting analysts - seeing a gradual drop from being the top-rated dual-threat to No. 5 for both Rivals and 247Sports going into enrollment. Phommachanh hits campus with something to prove from his earlier evaluations to entering a QB room that’s consistently fielded All-American contenders for much of the Dabo Swinney era at Clemson. QB coach Brandon Streeter analysis: "What a neat kid. It’s been a pleasure to recruit him and his family. Once I got to know him, I really took my time before I offered him. That’s how we do it here. After I was around him a little bit, I knew he was a good fit. I’m so proud of my room right now and the character they have. I just wanted to make sure in this class this is the right kid and the right fit. There’s no doubt he is a high character kid. Obviously we first found out about him because of his talent. This kid is so athletic. Can make all the throws. I’ve seen him play live and throw live and it’s just been a really neat experience getting to know him and his family." Number to know: 5 - Clemson has signed a 4-star-rated or higher QB in each of the last four classes, including five total. Clemson commit QB Taisun Phommachanh of Avon Old farms '19. The Bridgeport, CT native is rated the #3 dual threat QB in the country. #respeCT @tydollaz3 https://t.co/n1MoSjrjn4 pic.twitter.com/V3So9h2dhx
