from First Academy(HS) in Florida has committed to Clemson on Monday afternoon. He committed to Dabo Swinney over the speaker phone at the school.

His finalists were Clemson, Florida State, Stanford and Auburn. His main recruiter at Clemson was receivers coach Jeff Scott.

He is the nation's #2 TE/H-back according to ESPN and a high 4-star recruit by all the major recruiting services. During the season, he has played tight end, defensive end and fullback. Clemson will use him as their 3-back which is a hybrid of H-back and tight end.

Williams told the Orlando Sentinel that "It was an incredibly difficult decision,” he said. “All of the schools are extremely incredible programs ... [Clemson] after every visit, I was high in the school and the main reason is because I love what they stand for and love all the coaches and, indeed, that's where God is leading me to go. "

The 4-star recruit had a impressive offer list which included Akron, Alabama, Arizona, Auburn, Boston College, Clemson, Duke, Florida, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan State, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio State, Rutgers, South Carolina, Stanford, Tennessee, Virginia, Wake Forest and others.

As a junior, Williams had 76 tackles and 10 sacks. As sophomore, he had 70 tackles and 13 sacks and on offense had 7 touchdowns.

He took an unofficial visit to Clemson for the Georgia game, also attended the last two years of the Dabo Swinney football camp and visited Clemson's Junior Day in February 2014. Clemson offered on 1/16/13. Virginia was the first school to offer him.

His father, Dayne Williams played fullback for Florida State in the late-80s so Garrett grew up a huge Florida State fan.

Academically, he is thinking of majoring in engineering at Clemson. Williams is Clemson's 15th commitment for its 2015 class.
