Clemson recruiting class moves to No. 1 in re-rank |
Sports Illustrated's Andy Staples went back and ranked the recruiting classes from 2015 after a four-season body of work: Clemson came out on top.
The 247Sports Composite ranked the group No. 9 at the time, while Rivals and ESPN rated it as a top-5 class (No. 4 each).
Standouts from the group included NFL draft picks in Deon Cain and Ray-Ray McCloud and soon-to-be selections in Christian Wilkins, Mitch Hyatt, Clelin Ferrell, Austin Bryant and Albert Huggins.
Over four seasons, the class went 55-4 with four-straight Playoff appearances and two national titles.
"The hit rate from this class was tremendous," Staples wrote, "and it needed to be, because only an all-time class was going to beat out (Alabama at No. 2)."
Ohio State, Georgia and Oklahoma round out the top-5, all as overacheiving to their 2015 247 Composite rating (Oklahoma the most from No. 15 to No. 5).
