Trevor Lawrence wins Leather Helmet award

True freshman quarterback Trevor Lawrence was 29-for-40 for 295 yards with a passing touchdown and a rushing score in leading his team to a 27-7 victory over No. 17 Boston College.

After the game, Lawrence was named the winner of the leather helmet award for the game's MVP. Former Clemson great C.J. Spiller put the helmet on him as he was there as a special guest. Spiller was the first winner of the Leather Helmet Award for Clemson back in 2008.

He is the second Clemson freshman to win the award (Etienne in 2017).
