Shaq Lawson injury update |
Clemson defensive end
Shaq Lawson had ice wrapped on his left knee and has been walking gingerly on the sidelines in the early stages of the 2015 Orange Bowl.
Lawson had a sack early in the first quarter against Oklahoma but currently doesn't have a helmet on with two minutes to go in the first quarter. For the season, Lawson had 54 tackles and 9 1/2 sacks. Freshman defensive end Austin Bryant is in the game for Lawson late in the first quarter. We will try to update his status as soon as possible. Update 1: He has not been ruled out of the game yet and could still return. Update 2: Clemson officials said that defensive end Shaq Lawson will have his left knee reexamined at the half. A determination of whether the junior out of Central (SC) Daniel will be able to return to game will be made then. Update 3: Clemson officials have announced that Lawson is out for the game. Update 4: According to Joe Schad, Lawson has been diagnosed with a left knee sprain. Shaq Lawson's left knee taped with ice.
