ESPN: 93 coaches against proposal to slow down CFB

ESPN conducted a survey about the new rule proposal to slow down college football offenses and 93 out of 128 head coaches were against the rule.

Alabama's Nick Saban and Arkansas' Bret Bielema have been two of the more outspoken coaches in favor of the rule. They fear more injuries will come from the increased speed of play (and maybe potential losses).

Of the 25 in favor, only 11 are coaches at a "Power 5 Conference" school in either the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12, SEC, plus Notre Dame. Of the 128 coaches overall, 73 percent (93 coaches) are opposed to the proposal while only 19.5 percent (25 coaches) are in favor. Seven percent (nine coaches) are undecided.

One head coach refused to participate, indicating he "did not wish to be part of the conversation on this topic."
