Saban and Bielema are full of it... they recruit guys that weigh 350 lbs and want the rest of the FBS to slow the game down so that the lardasses on the DLs can stay on the field.
If a player cannot play all that player has to do is stay on the ground, the refs will stop play and the player will be replaced. There is not medical or safety issue or need for the D to have time to substitute.
