SI.com has released its latest article ranking the Top 100 players in college football for the 2016 season and Heisman finalist Deshaun Watson was ranked #6 overall.
Six other Clemson players were included in the Top 100 rankings with LB Ben Boulware (#23 overall), RB Wayne Gallman (#41 overall), WR Mike Williams (#42 overall), DT Carlos Watkins (#49 overall), TE Jordan Leggett (#92 overall) and WR Artavis Scott (#98 overall).
"Last season Watson took the Tigers to the national championship game and was named a Heisman finalist, both accomplishments that are well within reach again this season," SI.com said. "The difference? Watson isn’t coming off major knee surgery, and arguably his best receiver, Mike Williams, will be healthy, along with talented returnees like fellow wideout Artavis Scott, tight end Jordan Leggett and running back Wayne Gallman. Watson is the best quarterback in college football, and he has an abundance of skill around him. Expect him to build on his terrific 2015 campaign—yes, that’s a high bar to clear—and make another run at the Heisman."
The Top 10 players overall were RB Leonard Fournette, DE Myles Garrett, RB Christian McCaffrey, RB Dalvin Cook, LB Jabrill Peppers, QB Deshaun Watson, CB Desmond King, OT Cam Robinson, WR JuJu Smith-Schuster, and S Derwin James.
