WATCH: Swinney on Deshaun Watson - 'He's just a winner' |
Clemson coach
Dabo Swinney appeared on the Rich Eisen Show on Tuesday and he was asked to revisit his comments comparing passing on
Deshaun Watson in last year's NFL draft to passing on Michael Jordan.
Before injury, Watson, who was selected 12th overall in that draft by the Houston Texans, earned AFC offensive player of the month honors for October and had moved into a tie for the league-lead in passing touchdowns. "I wasn't looking for any vindication," Swinney said of his reaction to the success. "I didn't need to be vindicated. I just wanted to see him do well and obviously disappointed he got hurt, but man I was so glad he had a chance to show what he can do. You don't just luck up and do what he did."
