Two Clemson players made the top-10 of the Heisman Trophy vote.
Trevor Lawrence finished seventh, garnering three first-place votes. ACC player of the year Travis Etienne finished ninth. Lawrence hasn’t thrown an interception over the last 27 quarters with 23 touchdown passes in that span. Etienne has rushed for 1,500 yards and 17 scores, pacing the nation in yards per carry (8.2). The duo make the sixth top-10 vote-getters under Dabo Swinney at Clemson, joining honorees CJ Spiller and Deshaun Watson. Clemson had only 1 top 10 in Heisman voting 1935-2008 (Steve Fuller 6th 1978), but has had 6 top 10s under Dabo Swinney (Spiller 09, Watson 15 and 16, Etienne 18 and 19, Lawrence 19). Note some historians say Banks MaFadden had top 10 in 1939, but only top 4 listed in records.
