Hunter Renfrow is in a world of hurt after his team's loss at the New York Jets on Sunday.
NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported on Monday that Renfrow suffered a broken rib and a punctured lung in the defeat. Rapoport didn't have a timeline for Renfrow's come back from injury. Renfrow addressed the injury on social media Monday evening: Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes. I’ll be back better #RaiderNation His head coach Jon Gruden talked to the media about it later in the day as well. “We got some bad news,” Gruden said during his Monday press conference. “We feel that Hunter Renfrow hurt his ribs. He’s going to be out for a while. Big loss for our team.” “I’m not going to get into the severity, because I really don’t know. We’re looking at his ribs, and as soon as I get the official, exact determination, I’ll let you know.” Renfrow had emerged as one of the top-performing NFL rookies, grading as the No. 8 prospect going into last week according to Pro Football Focus and tallying 36 catches for 396 yards and two touchdowns.
