Former Clemson tight end
Jordan Leggett is set to start the 2019 season on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers practice squad, according to The Athletic's Greg Auman.
Leggett was claimed by the Bucs this summer after the Jets waived him going into his third season as a pro. Leggett missed his rookie campaign with a knee injury and caught 14 passes for 114 yards and a score last season. Leggett was waived over the weekend as Tampa Bay put together its 53-man opening day roster for next week. The former fifth-round NFL draft pick was a two-time Mackey Award finalist for Clemson, totaling 112 catches for 1,598 yards and 18 touchdowns over 51 games as a Tiger. Other recent Clemson practice squad signees also include Mitch Hyatt (Dallas Cowboys), Albert Huggins (Houston Texans) and Artavis Scott (L.A. Chargers).
