LOOK: Dabo Swinney visits Wrigley Field

Clemson football head coach Dabo Swinney has made it a habit to visit a variety of professional sports venues with his sons for their springtime vacation. This year, Swinney paid a visit to the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field prior to a matchup between the Cubs and the Miami Marlins.

Swinney has talked in the past about his Cubs fandom, and the 2-time national championship-winning coach chatted with 2016 World Series champion manager Joe Maddon on Thursday. Perhaps, Swinney shared some words of wisdom, as the Cubs defeated the Marlins 4-1. For what it is worth, Maddon has spoken to the Clemson Tigers before, and they have certainly experienced their fair share of success in recent years.

Swinney has visited other MLB parks recently, such as Busch Stadium and Miller Park, and has seemed to bring luck to the home team everywhere that he and his sons, Will and Drew, have gone. Swinney was assuredly delighted to see the Cubs pick up a victory while in attendance at Wrigley Field.

Interestingly, the Cubs and Clemson have a little bit of a connection. In addition to Dabo supporting the North Siders, former Clemson baseball standouts Jeff Baker and Tyler Colvin each suited up for the Cubs for multiple seasons in the past decade, and Cubs ace Jon Lester's wife, whom Jon met while playing for the Single-A Greenville Drive in the Clemson area of Upstate South Carolina, is a Clemson University graduate.
